What's included in this VersiFlex SG500 bundle?

The bundle includes the Sawgrass SG500 printer, the complete VersiFlex ink set (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Expander — 31ml each), and VersiFlex Light transfer paper (8.5″×11″, 50 sheets). Sawgrass Creative Studio software is free and cloud-based, included with the printer registration.

Can I use this bundle if my SG500 already has SubliJet UHD or EasySubli inks?

No. Sawgrass does not support switching ink systems in an existing printer. VersiFlex inks cannot be introduced into a printer that has run SubliJet UHD, EasySubli, or ChromaBlast — doing so risks ink contamination, print head damage, and voids the Sawgrass warranty. VersiFlex requires a dedicated printer configured for it from the start.

What is the difference between VersiFlex and SubliJet UHD?

VersiFlex is a 3-in-1 decorating system designed for cotton, fabric blends, uncoated wood, ceramic, and multi-surface workflows using VersiFlex transfer paper. SubliJet UHD is the standard Sawgrass sublimation ink for polyester garments and polymer-coated blanks — the most common sublimation setup. Choose VersiFlex if cotton and mixed-surface production is your goal. Choose SubliJet UHD if your focus is traditional sublimation on polyester and coated products. Both require dedicated printers — you cannot switch between them.

Does VersiFlex work on dark or black fabrics?

No. VersiFlex does not include white ink. For best results, use white, cream, or light-colored materials. Dark and black fabrics are not compatible with the VersiFlex system.

Is a heat press included?

No. A heat press is required for all VersiFlex transfers and is sold separately. Sawgrass recommends using a heat press with adjustable pressure for optimal VersiFlex results. Press time, temperature, and pressure settings vary by substrate — always follow current Sawgrass-published settings for each material.

What is the maximum print size for the SG500?

The SG500 supports media up to 8.5″×14″ using the standard paper tray, and up to 8.5″×51″ with the optional bypass tray. For wider output up to 11″×17″, the SG1000 is the appropriate model.

What software do I need to print with the SG500 VersiFlex system?

Sawgrass Creative Studio is the required print management software for all Sawgrass SG500 printers. It is free and cloud-based — included with printer registration. Creative Studio manages color profiles, substrate presets, and the print queue. No third-party RIP software is needed.

What warranty is included with the SG500?

The Sawgrass SG500 is covered by a 3-year / 100,000-print manufacturer warranty for printers ordered after October 1, 2025. Printers ordered before that date carry a 2-year warranty. The warranty includes lifetime technical support from Sawgrass and applies to the original purchaser only.
