Important: VersiFlex inks must only be installed in a dedicated SG500 or SG1000 VersiFlex printer that has never been used with SubliJet UHD, EasySubli, ChromaBlast, or any other ink system. Switching ink systems in a single printer is not supported by Sawgrass.
What Is the Sawgrass VersiFlex Ink Complete Set?
The Sawgrass VersiFlex Ink Complete Set is the full four-cartridge ink configuration required to run the VersiFlex decorating system on a dedicated Sawgrass SG500 or SG1000 printer. VersiFlex does not use traditional CMYK sublimation inks. Instead, it uses Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Expander — a four-component system designed for multi-surface decorating on light-colored cotton, fabric, wood, ceramic, and compatible coated hard goods.
VersiFlex is not a drop-in upgrade for an existing SubliJet UHD or EasySubli printer. A dedicated printer is required — one that has only ever run VersiFlex inks from the start. When used correctly with Sawgrass Creative Studio, Sawgrass-recommended transfer papers, and proper heat press settings, VersiFlex expands your substrate range beyond traditional polyester sublimation.

Sawgrass VersiFlex Ink Compatibility: Which Printers Work?
VersiFlex inks are only compatible with Sawgrass SG500 and SG1000 printers dedicated exclusively to the VersiFlex ink system from initial setup. No other printers are compatible.
Critical: Do Not Switch Ink Systems
Installing VersiFlex inks in a Sawgrass printer that has previously used SubliJet UHD, EasySubli, ChromaBlast, or any other ink system will contaminate the ink lines, compromise print quality, and may permanently damage the print head. Sawgrass does not support ink system changes on a single printer. If you want to run both ink systems, you need two dedicated printers.

VersiFlex is designed for multi-surface decorating on white or light-colored materials. Best results depend on using Sawgrass VersiFlex Light transfer paper, correct Creative Studio profiles, and proper heat press settings for each substrate.

VersiFlex Does Not Include White Ink
VersiFlex cannot print on dark or black fabrics. For best results, always use white, cream, or light-colored materials. VersiFlex relies on the substrate's base color as the white point in the design. Always use Sawgrass VersiFlex Light transfer paper and follow current Sawgrass Creative Studio settings for each material.
VersiFlex vs SubliJet UHD: What's the Difference?
Both VersiFlex and SubliJet UHD run on the SG500 and SG1000 but serve different purposes and are not interchangeable in the same printer.
Required Paper, Software & Workflow
VersiFlex inks work as part of a complete system. Correct results require Sawgrass VersiFlex Light transfer paper, the correct media profile in Sawgrass Creative Studio, and proper heat press time, temperature, and pressure for each substrate. As a general reference, cotton workflows typically require heat press temperatures in the range of 330–365°F (166–185°C), with dwell times of 30–60 seconds depending on fabric weight — but always verify current Sawgrass-published settings for your specific material before production.
