Do you need special paper for 2×6 photo booth strips?
No. Standard RX1HS 4×6 media can produce two 2×6 strips per 4×6 print using the supported 2-inch cutting workflow. Set the layout and cutting options in your compatible printer driver or photo booth software.
One print, two strips
A 1,400-print case can yield up to 2,800 individual strips. If each booth session delivers one pair, that is up to 1,400 sessions before allowing for test prints, reprints and extra copies.
Buying for a strip-only booth?
Standard 4×6 media is a practical starting point. You do not need factory perforations for this cutter-based workflow. Run a test with your event template before guests arrive.
Standard 6×8 media also supports a four-strip layout with the appropriate workflow. Choose it when you need that flexibility alongside larger prints.

Each standard case contains two rolls of dye-sublimation photo paper and two matching ribbons. The ribbon supplies the color; separate ink cartridges are not needed. Keep each paper roll paired with its corresponding ribbon and replace them together.
For dedicated 5×7 output, select the 5×7 kit and use the required L-Spacers. A bordered 5×7 image printed on wider 6×8 media is a different workflow from a finished 5×7 print on dedicated media.
The case yield counts finished photos at the stated size. A 1,400-print 4×6 case contains two 700-print rolls; it does not provide 1,400 prints on each roll.
Can you use RX1HS media in the original DNP RX1?
Yes, with compatible RX1 firmware. If your original RX1 already runs RX1HS media successfully, match the media family and size when reordering. If its update history is unknown, confirm the firmware before switching supplies.
DNP’s legacy documentation identifies firmware that requires RX1HS media, including v2.04. It also states that the HS 2.07 conversion cannot be reversed. Review DNP’s RX1 firmware notes before making changes.

When should you choose perforated RX1HS media?
Choose perforated media when your finished product needs a physical tear line. It is a separate choice from standard paper cut into photo booth strips.
- RX1HS 4×6 2S center-perforated media for specialty tear-apart layouts.
- RX1HS 6×8 3S perforated media for specialty strip layouts.
Confirm the perforation pattern against your template before ordering. For a routine two-strip 2×6 booth layout, use the standard 4×6 workflow explained above. Ask us about a specific perforated format.
Plan your media around prints, not guest count
For example, 300 booth sessions with two 4×6 copies per session use 600 prints. That fits within the rated 700-print capacity of one fresh 4×6 roll, but you should still allow for test prints, reprints and additional guest copies.
For media-only cost per 4×6 photo, divide the case price by 1,400. Add applicable shipping and tax when comparing suppliers. Your event pricing should also cover labor, equipment and other operating expenses.
